Zolisa Xulava brought everyone to tears!
Last night’s episode of Gomora was an emotional one, just like the previous week were a scene between Teddy and Langa brought the two young actors a round of applause.
Following the discovery that Mrs Manzi raped Teddy – an emotional Melusi went to comfort Teddy and the two broke down and saw Mr Dlamini also open up about being a victim of rape in his childhood.

Born in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, actor Zolisa Xaluva has established himself as one of Mzansi’s most-gifted television stars. His latest role as principal Melusi in Mzansi Magic’s hit telenovela Gomora has earned him praise from critics and television viewers.

Zolisa has been in the television and film industry for more than a decade. He first gained popularity on SABC 1’s iconic soap-drama Generations and went on to appear in many other TV shows including The Queen Mzansi where he played Diamond Mabuza.

Jason – Generations
He played advertising genius and lover to Senzo Dhlomo in Generations back in 2005. Xaluva received much acclaim for this role as it made other productions open to casting gay characters. This was one of the first, if no the first time, where a local TV production took the initiative to educate South Africans about the LGBTQ community.
Tsha Tsha – Lwazi
In 2006, he landed his first leading role as Lwazi Mboweni in the fourth season of Tsha Tsha. This earned him much acclaim and opened other doors for him.
Melusi – Gomora
school headmaster Melusi at a school in the Township of Alex. He’s a hardworking and dedicated leader, who sometimes lets his anger get the better of him. After his relationship with Katlego Danke’s Thati broke down after she ran off with a rich man, he was later devastated. Luckily, he found love in the arms of Gladys – a social worked focused on bettering the lives of her kids in her community.
