Former Ekurhuleni City mayor, Mzwandile Masina and ANC veteran attended a traditional wedding, and they were clad in their traditional attires.

This photo set tongues wagging on social media as many were curious to know who was getting married, and invited the RET heavyweights. Mzwandile Masina is touted as the incoming treasurer general in December, while Tony Yengeni has made it clear that he is no longer interested in contesting.

It looks like the RET forces are greatly divided to topple president Cyril Ramaphosa in December. Kwa-Zulu Natal Provincial Executive Committee endorsed Zweli Mkhize for presidency, while others wanted Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. This is most likely going to divide votes at the conference.

Some have been saying this is a strategy to confuse the enemy so that in December they will unveil their real candidate from the floor. Comrades like Mdumiseni Ntuli and Sihle Zikalala were not endorsed and Ntuli said maybe it’s because some comrades were influenced by the speculation that they were anti-Zuma.

An RET comrade however said Zweli Mkhize is as good as Mdumiseni Ntuli and if given any topic to speak about, they always do justice to it.

“Both of them when they speak they speak wisdom, give Zweli any topic be it health, economy or education he will leave you saying wow.

Mdumiseni Ntuli is a good leader too organisational, he can revive the ANC as the secretary general. Ntuli can win easily, Zweli will have to fight,” said an RET comrade.

Zweli Mkhize is however being doubted as some comrades say he is not a strong candidate for the RET comrades to contest against Cyril Ramaphosa. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma could have stood a chance, but it looks like the current ANC Kwa-Zulu Natal provincial executive committee want Mkhize and not Dlamini-Zuma to lead even though he is being questioned.
