RIP: Her last words before sinking to her death with her husband and children
Several incidences have been recorded in the last few days in which cars have been submerged in water and the passengers have tragically perished.
This is one of those heartbreaking stories about a family that was killed in a car accident.
This happened when four people have tragically killed in yet another collision on the R30 Road.
A four-person family was driving from the Eastern Cape to Orkney when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a dam.
At around 03:00 on March 28, 2022, Allanridge SAPS members received a call from the deceased’s sister.
Her now-deceased sister’s last words were used to notify her sister of the tragedy when the vehicle was sinking in the water. Warrant Officer Rudolf Kruger, Warrant Officer Norman Kuhn, and Sergeant Carel Gagiano of the SAPS Diving Unit were dispatched to the scene.
The agony of knowing your sister is trapped in a sinking automobile with her entire family and knowing there’s nothing you can do about it is unimaginable. Her sister’s final words will stay with her forever.
The vehicle, which was entirely buried and had four occupants, was retrieved after a search.
At the site, all of the victims were pronounced dead. A case of Culpable Homicide has been opened and will be investigated further.
The deceased’s relatives were notified. The following are the names of the people who died. Mr. Lutsha Mbato (33), Thabisa Sikhumba-Mabatu (34), Bungcwalisa Mbatu (04), and Likamva Mbatu (03) are their two daughters.
Police are once again urging vehicles on the R30 Road near Allanridge to slow down, particularly because it is a gravel road. On this route, motorists are asked to follow the rules and pay attention to the signage.
