Rasta the artist has done it again
Lebanon Sirenje, famously known as Rasta, has done it again. Rasta the artist welcomed the Banyana Banya a head coach with a painting of the smiley face at OR Tambo international airport.
Banyana Banyana broke their long-standing curse on their 6th attempt to win the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), edging host nation Morocco 2-1 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Saturday.
Three goals were scored in the second half, with Hildah Magaia netting a brace and Rosella Ayane putting fear into the visitors late in the match with her consolation strike.
Several fans gathered at the OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday morning awaiting the arrival of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations champions, Banyana Banyana, one of those fans was rasta and his painting.
He painted a smiley face of Desiree Ellis with a gold medal if around her neck. She was happy to see herself be one of the art that was done by rast. They both took a picture together holding the painting.
It is a great honor for one of the greatest artists in our country to take the time and honor the great.
Rasta is known for doing paintings when the country is grieving, but this time he proved us wrong by honoring them while they are still alive.
Thank Rasta the artist.
