Earlier in May, a fan took to Twitter to ask Sicelo if he is the man behind the Spiderman costume that has been rocking crowds throughout South Africa. Sicelo also has a music career that’s booming at the moment. Week in week out he can be seen at different venue entertaining crowds.
The legendary Israel Zulu recently joined Gomora Mzansi and opened up to Daily Sun about what his new role entails.
“I’ll be playing Don. He had a relationship with Zodwa, played by Sannah Mchunu, and they had Teddy. He dumped Zodwa for a rich woman and went to live in mansions. Unfortunately, the woman recently died,” he told the publication.
“Now he’s down and out as the wife’s family took everything and he has returned to Alex. He’ll come back with his daughter Sibongile. Don will also be competition for Mam’Sonto, played by Connie Chiume.
“He struggles a lot after returning and ends up getting into hijacking. Soon he starts taking over Sonto’s operations,” he said, adding that people will love him and his sense of humour. Don is coming to take over but people will love him because he’s funny. There will be sadness, sorrow, action and more importantly, drama, “said the legend.

During his heartfelt acceptance speech, he thanked everyone who has been instrumental in his success.
“First of all, I’d like to thank the man above. I’d like to thank my mom for supporting me. I’d like to thank my sister; I’d like to thank my little brother. I’d like to thank the cast; Mazet (Siphesihle, you’ve been the best friend that I have met in this set bruh). I’m so grateful. Ntobeko Sishi Ngiyabonga njayam. Upon receiving his accolade, Buthelezi took to social media to reflect on how far he’s come.
“Last year during this time, I was sitting at a rehearsal room at The Market Theatre Laboratory not knowing what I’ll be doing after my graduation day… I set there alone watching others plan their stuff and I thought to myself “I may not know what I’ll do next year, but I know for a fact that God will guide me”, look at me now 🥺 an Award with my name on it wow!”
