Suggested News: A Full Heart

[Jesus said,] “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
John 10:10

Our lives are filled with more of everything—responsibilities, choices, options, obligations—and yet rarely do we feel full and satisfied.

Our days are crammed full of stuff, but our hearts aren’t full of joy and peace. The abundant life seems a distant ideal, something we long for but can’t experience.

But we can.

Our primary need each day is to know Christ, grow closer to him, and know his peace. You don’t have to block out hours of your day to spend in prayer and Bible study. It’s great if you can, but your schedule is probably going to remain overflowing with obligations.

Invite God’s presence into those days the same way you would seek him if you went away to a beautiful setting for a retreat. His peace can transform the way we go through our day, reminding us that we have more than enough of whatever it requires.

Suggested News: Spring Cleaning

“Praise be to the name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons . . .”
Daniel 2:20–21

Spring cleaning affords us the opportunity to clear out the cobwebs of winter and sort through the items we may have accumulated while indoors for so long. We can open our windows, sweep out the dust of the past few months, and welcome the warmer weather and gentle breezes of spring.

Clearing the clutter out of our lives, however, requires more than sorting through our old clothes and cleaning our closets, although those tasks certainly help. When we get rid of what’s no longer useful, especially items that drain us of time and energy, we’re pruning our lives to make room for new growth.

Sometimes God prunes our branches for us, even removing items that we may enjoy that aren’t strengthening our faith. He makes room for each new season.
